The Vardon Trophy is a famous one, named for the Jersey professional golfer, Harry Vordon who won The Open Championship a record six times and also won the U.S. Open.

This trophy is awarded annually by the PGA of America to the PGA Tour's leader in scoring average. When the award was first given in 1937, it was awarded on the basis of a points system. No award was given from 1942–1946 due to World War II. In 1947, the PGA began awarding it for low scoring average. In 1988, the trophy began going to the golfer with the lowest adjusted scoring average over a minimum of 60 rounds, with no mid-round withdraws.
There are thirteen players won more than once and the following players have won at least 4 times:
Tiger Woods has won 8 times.
Billy Casper and Lee Trevino both have won 5 times.
Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead have won 4 times.
