In my opinion, no matter what I have explained, all it matters depends on what you believe in.
According to history, the Dutch were playing games mostly on ice and by the 14th Century in which balls were struck by sticks that were curved at the bottom, which sounds like hockey and golf, except that golf has a green course on land.

The medieval Dutch term "kolf" meant "club," and the Dutch and Scots were trading partners, so the fact that the word "golf" evolved after being transported by the Dutch to the Scots lends credence to the idea that the game itself may have been adapted by the Scots from the earlier Dutch game.
So does that mean that the Dutch people invented golf? Nope, it only means that golf grew out of games that were played in different parts of Europe, because going back even further, the Romans brought their own stick-and-ball game into the British Isles.

And there is a talk like the Chinese invented golf. However the very truth is WHO KNOWS, GOD KNOWS. LOL...
Have a good day, my friend!
