The first golfer from Gloucester?

When we trace back to the beginning of golf game, and then, who knows the time of the first golf record?

It is reported that a stained glass windows has been found from the Gloucester Cathedral, or the Cathedral Church of St Peter and the Holy and Undivided Trinity, in Gloucester, England, stands in the north of the city near the river. It originated with the foundation of an abbey dedicated to Saint Peter in 678 or 679 (dissolved by King Henry VIII of England), which was dedicated in 1100 and the point is, the church is famous for its glass windows.

A window erected in the east wing of the Cathedral was commissioned by Sir Thomas Broadstone to commemorate his comrades who fell fighting the French at Cre'cy and is dated about 1340. More than 60 years earlier than the first written ( Scottish Golf )record.

The game stands for  a kind of elegant , and the picture showed on the window stands for a kind of art. When the two combined together, we can have no difficulty to know that this is the “Charming”.

From wood to steel, from TaylorMade  to Clones clubs, there is no doubt that the game has already been widely accepted. For health or for fun, the game is not fat away from us. And the Church is already been the place where you and I can go.
